Resources

Unfortunately, in business and in life, we need to set some rules about things.  This page contains all our policies.  These rules are required not just to protect us, but more so to protect you – the customer.  These policies listed below are not just required by law but have grown over the decades of teaching these classes.  For example, our rule about not bringing your young/infant children with you to class stems from students bringing their young/infant children to class.  Therefore, we included rules that tell you that you cannot do so.  It is not because we do not like infants and children, but sadly some people do not. We have a responsibility to provide a fun, enjoyable, and informative class or training to all our paying customers, even those who prefer adults over children and infants. Our classroom is spacious, but we do not have any extra seating or waiting area, so when family or friends expect to wait in the classroom for students to finish, we had to write yet another policy about waiting for students.  Enforcing all these rules is not easy and something we do not want to do. However, enforcing these rules is something we must do to provide a safe, enjoyable, educational environment for all our students.

We are lucky we do not have to enforce these policies often. The policies we need to address most often are being late, rescheduling, and cancelling class.  An unpopular way of explaining this policy is comparing class to a ball game or rock concert.  While we are not suggesting our class is of scale to a Chicago Cubs or Blackhawks game, all of us have a schedule.  Just like any musician.  If you buy a ticket to a ball game or concert, that event is going to start at the scheduled time regardless of if you are on time or not. If you are unable to make it to class due to any reason, the show is going to go on without you. We do understand that things beyond your control or ours happen. Therefore, our policies regarding attendance, being on time, and the like seem strict.  But we feel they are reasonable with the sliding scale we offer compared to other businesses/industries with single cutoffs, fees and fines.  Many students taking these classes are doing so related to work or school requirements, so it must be done.  We offer multiple class times. You decided on this day, please do everything you can to attend the class you registered for.

POLICIES

POLICIES

The following policies were agreed upon at the time of registering for class.

The following policies include information for multiple classes that are offered at Absolute CPR.
Please note which class you have registered for and any policies specific to your class.

Thanks for considering Absolute CPR for your training needs.

1) * * * * * REGISTRATION / ATTENDENCE / TARDY / NO SHOW POLICY * * * * *

REGISTRATION: It is the sole responsibility of the student to register for and attend the classes necessary for their job and/or school purpose, if applicable. Please review the class descriptions pages for information about the differences in the classes we offer. If you registered for the wrong class, contact Absolute CPR immediately so we can help you expedite the transfer into the right class by replying to this message. You will then be responsible for the difference in the class, including any associated fees with rescheduling (see following policies).

ATTENDENCE: Being on time cannot be stressed enough. It is the student’s responsibility to arrive early enough to class to park and make their way to our office.  Allowing for traffic, weather, and other sorts of delays is strongly encouraged.

ARRIVING LATE (being TARDY): All classes have a scheduled start time. The nature of the classes we offer is learning/educational based. It is required that students receive the entire instruction. If you are tardy whatsoever past the scheduled start time, you may be asked to leave. You will be considered a no show – the policies following will describe a no-show in greater detail. Phone calls, emails, and other communication trying to delay the start of class, request the class to wait on your behalf, or explain your circumstances are inappropriate. The registered students who arrived prior to the start of the class cannot be penalized for the tardiness of an individual(s).

Please review our address and obtain directions if needed prior to the day of your class. Please arrive early enough to find our office, find parking (free, ample parking around our building), and find your way to our office. Your anticipated cooperation is appreciated by Absolute CPR, the instructor(s), and the other students.

If you do arrive significantly late, you must NOT interrupt the class that has started. Interrupting a class in session is unacceptable. Interrupting a class in session will weigh greatly on any decision regarding the disposition of your tardiness.

There are no cancellations the day of class.

The time frame significantly late is subjective. Therefore, time frames such as “5 minutes” or “15 minutes” cannot describe what significantly late means – they are both considered a No Show if you do not attend class or are late to class.

If there is a sign on the door please refer to the directions on the sign.
If there is no sign on the door, do not interrupt class, email our office.

Please arrive on time. If the door is locked class has started, knocking on the door or opening the door while class has begun, thus interrupting class, is strongly discouraged as the instructor will notify the office of this occurrence.

The instructor does not have the authority to make decisions regarding rescheduling, that is up to the administrative staff, which you can reach at info@absolutecpr.com. There is no reason to interrupt class or argue with the instructor, especially in the presence of other students who have arrived on time and are in the middle of class no matter what the circumstances are. Notes on tardy students will be made, and these notes will be used when considering a decision about tardiness. Being on time for class cannot be stressed enough. As our FAQ page suggests, something we encouraged you to read before registration, this is a difficult policy to enforce but we must in order to ensure everyone has an enjoyable learning experience.

Groups of students who plan on arriving together.
Two or more students who plan on coming to class together must be diligent regarding arriving on time. We cannot postpone class for a single student, nor are we able to do it for multiple students running late either. This also makes things frustrating for not only the instructor who anticipates a bigger class size, but it compounds the frustration among other students who have arrived on time and now must wait or be interrupted by a group of late students. Therefore, we enforce this tardy / no show policy to make class more enjoyable for everyone.

2) * * * * * RESCHEDULING / CANCELLATION POLICY * * * * *

If you wish to reschedule or cancel, please notify Absolute CPR immediately via email.
Phone calls and voice mails are not acceptable means of notifying us of your intentions. Your intentions to cancel or reschedule MUST be done via email, please respond to this message.

* Rescheduling must be made via email at the earliest possible time.

While emergencies will be taken into consideration on a case-by-case basis, do not wait to notify us on the day of class or assume there will be any kind of refund. Email is the only means to contact us in this situation. Please be sure to review the Tardy Policy as well.

Requests to cancel or attempting to cancel the day of class is not acceptable.
